| Soul legend Lucas, formerly of 60s R 'n' B stars 'Lucas and the
Emperors'. In some ways, the man who unwittingly helped the demise of the band, by hiring Stix when
Plod had run out of gigs, and nothing in the offing. Also, co-incidentally, Steve Greenfield's band
'Dandy Rat and the Footpads' which he formed after leaving Plod in early 73, were also hired by
Lucas as his backing band. And in the Summer of 75, he also used three of the by then defunct
Stan Laurel Band , the other band from the Essex University 'Music Society' as a backing band.
